PEI is designing and building Composite Hybrid Missle Cells, Uptake Hatches, and Trunions for MK-41 Vertical Launch Systems.

SSMM Hatch Prototype

PEI under a SBIR Phase II project is designing and prototyping a composite Surface-to-Surface Mission Module (SSMM) hatch for PEO USC, PMS-420. PEI design is using composite material for construction to reduce weight, improve corrosion resistance and insulation, and reduce lifecycle maintenance.
